The Florida Panthers make their second attempt at winning the first championship in franchise history when they host the Edmonton Oilers for Game 5 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday. Florida won the first three games of the series but was unable to complete the sweep on Saturday as Edmonton cruised to an 8-1 victory. The Panthers have won four consecutive contests at home, outscoring their opponents 12-4 during the streak.

Opening faceoff at Amerant Bank Arena is set for 8 p.m. ET. Florida is a -135 favorite (risk $135 to win $100) on the money line in the latest Panthers vs. Oilers odds from SportsLine consensus, while Edmonton is the +114 underdog. The over/under for total goals scored is 5.5 (see the latest lines on our NHL odds page).

Before making any Oilers vs. Panthers picks, you NEED to see the latest NHL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

This model simulates every NHL game 10,000 times, taking into account factors like current form, individual matchups, injuries and short- and long-term trends when making NHL picks. It entered the 2024 Stanley Cup Final on a 7-4 run on top-rated puck-line picks.

The model knows Florida has lost consecutive games just once this postseason, dropping Games 2 and 3 of the Eastern Conference final to the New York Rangers, and followed with six straight victories. Captain Aleksander Barkov leads the Panthers with 21 points in the playoffs and has recorded four two-point performances in his last eight contests, including two in this series. Vladimir Tarasenko, who is one of two players on the club with his name already on the Stanley Cup, has scored a goal in back-to-back games and three of his last five after recording only two in his first 16 contests this postseason.

It also is aware that Edmonton finally has been able to generate offense in the series, producing at least two goals in each of the last four periods after registering only two over the first eight sessions. Connor McDavid is the leading playoff scorer with 38 points, including six in the last two games, and is looking to join Wayne Gretzky (three ties) and Mario Lemieux as the only players to register at least 40 in one postseason. The 27-year-old superstar notched three assists in Game 4 to increase his total to 32 and break the single-playoff record set in 1988 by Gretzky (31).

Now, the model has set its sights on Panthers vs. Oilers in Game 5 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final. We can tell you it's leaning Under on the goal total, but it also says one side of the money line has ALL the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NHL picks of your own.
